Tongues are wagging over the meeting held between President Muhammadu Buhari and governors of the All Progressive Congress (APC) party because they came out of it and kept mum.
Speculations are rife that at the meeting, they could not reach common ground on pressing issues. Commentators say the meeting must have been stormy. It commenced at about 2.15pm and ended at about 3.30pm and was held in the council chambers.
Gov. Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Simon Lalong (Plateau) and Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), explained to reporters that a unanimous agreement was reached at the meeting not to talk to the media.
The contentious issue of tenure extension for members of the party’s National Working Committee was said to have dominated discussions at the meeting.
All APC state governors, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo some top presidential aides and government officials attended the meeting.
