Disturbed by the spate of insincerity, lack of goodwill and paying lip service to peaceful coexistence as shown by Nigerian leaders, Prophet Isa El Buba has raised a rescue team to search for God fearing leaders that would take Nigeria to the most cherished level in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.
The General overseer, Evangelical Bible Outreach Ministries International, (EBOMI), El Buba said the “Initiative for a better and brighter Nigeria”, is to advocate for a new Nigeria that is built on the principles of democracy, rule of law, equity, social justice and liberty for all, regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender, race and status.
Speaking at the Inauguration ceremony held at the EBOMI Tower In Jos the Plateau state capital on Thursday, El Buba said the team which has men and women of integrity cutting across 36 states of the federation is to mobilize and mentor the younger generation into leadership positions in all strata of society.
El Buba expressed disappointment with the current government over her inability to move swiftly and nip the menace of Fulani herdsmen killings in the bud, saying “it is high time citizens are allowed to defend themselves”
“Last time President Buhari was in Benue and what we heard was that the Inspector General of Police disobeyed his order, and If we have an efficient and competent leader, that IGP would have been fired.
“Today, the issues of Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen attacks that needed to have been dealt with, with just a blow has been left to linger due to inefficient governance. That’s why we desire a leadership that has character, is God fearing and ready to treat everyone with dignity. We intend to raise that.
“The media should rise up to its responsibilities and engage great men and women on issues, because circumstances where people are being killed and nothing is being done, is not acceptable. Communities should have their own Police to defend themselves”.
On the state of the economy, Prophet El Buba expressed dismay over the lopsided fight against corruption by President Muhammadu Buhari, saying where over 500 million US Dollars recovered from thieves got missing in the hands of the EFCC and nobody is asking questions, “is unacceptable”.
He further added that, “if Buhari claims he is fighting corruption, and people are suffering, then it leaves much to be desired. When he came to power the country was corrupt, yet it was flourishing, rice was around N6,000 per 50kg bag and fuel was about 97nr per liter and now, you are fighting corruption and rice is N18,000 per 50kg bag, fuel is over N350.00. How justifiable is that ?”
“People must rise up and defend this country”.
According to him, “the members of the movement will not rest on its oars to see that people above 80 years are no longer given positions of leadership, we will monitor the electoral process , engage in national enlightenment to ensure that only good people are voted into power in the next dispensation”.
