A member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Samuel Jeje has joined Ekiti people in passing a message to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to allow Ekiti people decide who they want as their leader and forget about rigging the July 14 election for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Jeje made the statement on Sunday while hosting some youths from Ido/Osi Constituency II in Ayetoro-Ekiti. The youths who are all loyalists of PDP expressed their concern over the noise of the main opposition party in the state that INEC has agreed to rig the election in favour of the APC.
The lawmaker said there was nothing to panic about the election because INEC dares not ‘misbehave’ in Ekiti.
He stressed that the electoral body will not attempt to try rubbish with Ekiti people because they know the implication.
“Gov. Ayodele Fayose is not a man that anybody can rubbish politically, so the thought that APC will use federal might via INEC to rig the election should be ignored.
“We have heard a lot of rumours about the yet to be conducted election and we won’t allow anything to distract us, we are ready for the election and we know that our party cannot be robbed or intimidated”, Jeje said.
Meanwhile, the commission gave an undertaking at a meeting held at Hassanat Event Centre last week with the representatives of all political parties in the state that the election will be free, fair and credible.
Hon. Jeje who represents Ido/Osi Constituency II, comprising Ayetoro, Usi, Ilogbo and Osi -Ekiti in the house also said he will soon hold a meeting with all PDP delegates in his constituency to ensure Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka gets the highest number of votes during the party’s primaries.
