…. As Reps Member Empowers Constituents
The Deputy Governor of Ekiti State. Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka who is also the preferred candidate of Governor Ayodele Fayose for the 2018 gubernatorial election in the state has once again visited Ilogbo-Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government Area where no fewer than 300 citizens of the state were empowered by a member of the House of Representatives, Hon.Thaddeus Akinola Aina who represents the people of Ekiti North Federal Constituency 11.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the deputy governor thanked God in the life of the National Assembly member for coming up with a gargantuan programme like this at this period when the economy of the nation was on the floor, recalling that he was in the town sometime in 2016 for an empowerment scheme equally executed by the same person.
He congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to make good use of the tools provided for them.
The deputy governor described APC as a party of darkness which should not be allowed to have it’s way back to the state.
While commissioning the skill acquisition centre in the town built by the federal lawmaker, he urged Ekiti youths to embrace vocational training instead of the continued search for white collar jobs, stressing that even when one may have acquired a university degree doesn’t mean one should not embrace vocational training.
In his remark, the Executive Chairman of Ido/Osi Local Government, Mr. Tunde Alagbami thanked Hon. Aina for reaching out to the people, and urged the gathering to continue showing their support to the state governor and ensure that the continuity agenda of Gov. Ayodele Fayose becomes a reality.
Aladegbami said the only person among the governorship aspirants in the party (PDP) who can deliver is Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka.
Responding, Hon. Thaddeus’s Aina said he made a promise during the last empowerment scheme on 5th March 2016 that his empowerment scheme shall be a regular exercise.
He stressed that there have been series of trainings, workshops and indoor empowerment in between the last exercise and today.
The lawmaker said Ekiti people were hardworking but lack of tools has being a challenge.
He said: “Today’s items were to meet the challenge in our constituency. Aside the above, I have ensured the presence of physical projects like boreholes, classrooms, road rehabilitation in our various wards”.
He appealed to the beneficiaries to make good use of the items while others who are yet to benefit should keep faith with us as plans are still on the way to ensure things go round.
Commenting, the Owa of Ilogbo-Ekiti, Oba (Dr) Edward Ajayi (JP) said he was happy to witness all the current happenings in the town, saying God has finally remembered the town for good.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Hon. Temitope Ojo thanked the lawmaker for reaching out to the people, describing him as a silent achiever who has touched many lives since he was voted as a member of the national assembly.
Among the items distributed were: tricycles ( popularly called Keke Napep), Motorcycles, hand sewing machines, sewing machines, generating sets, block molding machines, grinding machines, barbing materials and grain shredders.
