Femi Fani-Kayode defends the integrity of his party, the PDP against the insult from Nasir Ahmad El Rufa’i.

Every possible thought by Kaduna State governor, Nasir Ahmad El Rufa’i that his insult to the party that brought him to prominence would ignore his words was quickly rebuffed when the throwback insult came from his former colleague and friend, Femi Fani-Kayode, Nigeria’s former Aviation minister, at a time when El Rufa’i was the Federal Capital Territory, FCT minister.

When the Kaduna State governor who eased his Christian deputy, Bala Yusuf Barnabas Bantex out of running for election with him in order for him to pick a Muslim Southern Kaduna woman as gubernatorial running mate said, ”There isn’t a single thinking brain left in the PDP”, opposition party, PDP chieftain Femi Fani-Kayode quickly fired back :

“I do not want to sound too harsh on an old friend but I will say this: those that insist on remaining in the APC despite its glaring failures and incompetence have NO brain at all: they have replaced it with cow dung”.

Nasir El Rufa’i, governor of Kaduna State, north western Nigeria.
Probably surprised at the strong response from former colleague Femi Fani-Kayode

Strong words there from Femi Fani-Kayode to El Rufa’i, from whom would be expected the pulling of faces because of the inference in the insult.
El Rufa’i once confessed to paying out huge millions to his kinsmen, Fulani herdsmen militia to dissuade them from further killing Southern Kaduna Christians and leaders. Unfortunately they took the money but continued the killings, the most recent death being that of the Agom Adara in Numana kingdom whose traditional leadership amongst many other non Muslim tribes that the governor plans to tinker with.

Watchers of Kaduna State politics say this may be a very thorny affair and one likely to cause more strife in the north western state.
