Gov Lalong Commends NGOs For Their Partnership In The Plateau Peace Process

Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong has commended Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) for their contribution towards the restoration of peace in the State.

Governor Lalong stated this while receiving the President and members of the International Bible Translators who were in Jos for a conference.

Gov Lalong said the Government is in the process of completing a Trauma Centre to alleviate the healing process of those affected in attacks occasioned by insurgents.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Bible Translation Trust (NBTT), Dr Yakubu Lash, said they are in Jos to attend an International Pastors conference which drew representation from various denominations.

Lash said the organisation will establish a Trauma Healing Centre to assist in the restoration process adding that “We commend your hard work in restoring peace on the Plateau State”

In a separate speech, Mr. G. Brent of WYCLIFF, said they are partnering with NBTT to translate scriptures into 46 different languages.

Mr Brent commended efforts at restoring peace adding that “We recognise that peace has been achieved through the efforts of the Government.”
