ICAN Kaduna District And Society Celebrates Annual Gala Night, Lists Successes

The Institute Of Chartered Accountants Of Nigeria (ICAN) , Kaduna District and Society held its annual gala Night on Saturday December 14, at Hamdala Hotel Kaduna with pomp and pageantry.

In his Welcome speech, the Chairman of Kaduna District and Society , Dallatu Abdulazeez, FCA, highlighted some of the impressive records achieved by the district this year as follows :

1- 40 Candidates from Kaduna District sat for the ICAN exams, passed and successfully qualified as chartered accountants from the November 2018 Diet .

2-10 Candidates from his district also sat for the ATS exams and came out successfully .

3- Mr Abdulazeez also revealed that under the Special Student Program , ICAN and The New Nigeria Development Corporation, ( NNDC ) partnered to train candidates sitting for the ICAN Exams .While the NNDC provided the venue and other facilities for the candidates, ICAN provided the technical support and lecturers .

4-The Kaduna District and Society held a technical session for members during the annual accountant’s week held in Kaduna.

5- The Kaduna District and Society Chairman also revealed that his District visited two orphanages – Blessed and Adonai Orphanages and donated to orphans as part of its corporate social responsibility.

In his speech , Alhaji Adigun Kamoru FCA, MBA, expressed satisfaction with the successes achieved by the Kaduna District and Society under the current chairman. He also stressed the need for Accountants, especially ICAN members to start partnering with politicians and the leadership of the country in order to enhance prudent management of the nation’s economy and resources .

Mr Adigun also revealed that accountants being solution providers in all aspects of the nation should be deeply involved in fashioning out solutions to the numerous ills plaguing the society .

Dr Musa Danjuma of the Nigerian Institute of Trypanosomiasis Research was also invited for to deliver a pep talk on health .

He also highlighted the need for all, especially accountants to be involved in light exercises such as jogging , walking in order to avoid heart related diseases .

Other events included a raffle draw, with many gifts given to winners.The cultural band was on hand to dish out local music for the listening pleasure of invited guests.

The climax of the event was the sumptuous cuisines of different cultures showered on guests .
