The Jos offices of The Daily Sun, The Nation and Sports Belt were burgled, Tuesday night by men of the underworld, carting away valuables including a Samsung Plasma television, LG television sets and cash.
The affected media correspondents, Gyang Bere of The Sun and Aminu Idegu of The Nation reveal that the thieves gained entry into the offices of the Bureau Chiefs where they took away Samsung Plasma Television and some items yet to be discovered.
The Plateau State Correspondent, Gyang Bere, confirmed the incident on Wednesday morning when he resumed work and discovered that the office was vandalized and valuable items taken away.
The matter was reported immediately to ‘A’ Divisional Police Station in Jos and the officer on duty visited the offices to take inventory of the lost and vandalized items.
“We closed from the office on Tuesday at about 6. 00 PM and were called the following morning at about 7:23 a.m. on Wednesday that our office was burgled. I hurriedly left home to the office and discovered that the burglary proof was broken and a Samsung Plasma television set, taken away.
“They vandalized the ceiling and moved into the office of Sport Belt where it was said that money and valuable items were also stolen.”
State Correspondent of The Nation Newspapers, Aminu Yusuf Idegu, said The Nation office in the same block was equally vandalized with two LG television sets and some electronic gadgets, stolen.
“I resumed work at about 9. 00 am today and discovered my office had been forcibly entered into. They took away two LG television sets, a stabilizer and UPS, we are still searching to know if there are other items that were equally stolen which we have not discovered yet.”
