NUT Chairmanship Aspirant Lauds Gov. Fayemi Over Prompt Payment Of Teachers’ Salaries

A Nigerian Union of Teachers, Ekiti State Chapter chairmanship aspirant, Com. Oke Oluwagbemi has commended Governor Kayode Fayemi over regular payment of teachers’ salaries since he came back as chief executive of the state in 2018, despite meagre resources accruing to the state.

Mr. Oke made his remarks known in Ado- Ekiti while reeling out his manifesto, Wednesday.

He said Ekiti State teachers are the most promptly paid in the country.

Oke, who is currently a state officer, End Well Scheme, said he was not too young to lead, noting that some people in the country became governors when they were at his age.

He stressed that he has what it takes to manage and revamp the teachers’ union in the state.

The aspirant equally stressed that if elected, he would ensure that all schools in the state are rehabilitated, so as to provide a conducive learning environment.

Furthermore, he pledged to make welfarism of teachers in the state his topmost priority.

He promised to agitate for the promotion of teachers as at when due and therefore solicited for the support of all teachers in the state in the forthcoming NUT election.
