With a majority judgement of 5 and a dissenting judgement of 2, the Country’s Supreme Court has decided in favour of the All Progressive Congress, APC Candidate, Gboyega Oyetola as the winner of the Osun governorship election held in 2018. The judgement was read today, July 5, 2019.

“Technicality prevailed over merit of a case”, said a commentator, as it seemed based on the absence of a Tribunal judge”, Justice Obiora who read the lead judgement at the lower tribunal.

“Don’t think this is the final judgement. Appeal cases 553, 554 and 555 dismissed. Dismissed on the absence of Justice Obiora, 556 is left”, opined another learned gentleman.

Comments have been coming in torrents, and the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP is in a state of shock.

“The Nigerian Judiciary has successfully set precedents and carved a comfortable accommodation for electoral venality, violence and malpractices”

“I do not know what violation of electoral laws has come too brazen like the one Ọṣun witnessed.
The hope in this country is sagged. The mechanics of good governance is lost”, commented party members.

Meanwhile, Senator Ademola Adeleke continues his job as elected Senator, as he probably plots a future contest when his legislative tenure, expires.
