Sanga LG Boss Lauds Security Efforts For Relative Peace In The Area, Urges All To Cooperate

The Executive Chairman of Sanga Local Government Area in Kaduna state Mr Charles Danladi has said that the council had been able to tackle the security issues in the area as all security and traditional leaders are working in tandem.

Speaking on the matter with Radio Nigeria in an exclusive interview at the local government secretariat, Mr Danladi said that “the security situations had been challenging as you know we have had series of attacks in the recent past especially in places like Nandu.”

“Some attacks are herdsmen related while others are on personalities that is somebody attacking another maybe in the house or farm,” he said.

He however said that the security agencies have been giving the local government the adequate support as relative calm has returned to the local government.

“We have had meetings with Kaduna state police commissioner and the commander of Operation Safe Haven who had visited Nandu that was attacked recently,” he added.

The local government chairman also said that they have been able to hold meetings with Fulani chieftains as well as other community leaders in the area as they have been according the council the necessary support in fighting the menace.

“We also had meetings with Fulani leaders and other leaders in the area who have been assisting us as they have been cooperating with us when it comes to the issues of security,” he explains

He called for security consciousness by the local farmers and fulani herders amongst others who are domiciled within the area as a way of promoting their safety for peaceful coexistence.

The local government boss who charged them to always report every suspicious or strange activities to the relevant authorities said that the issue of security is the business of everyone as they have a big role to play in combating all forms of crimes and criminality via intelligence gathering and information sharing with the security agents

“Our biggest challenge at the moment is people refusing to share information regarding these criminals, those who are perpetrating this act are people who live with us, and these communities know them but are scared of them, even when arrests are being made the community leaders always obstruct justice by going to release them from police custody, these same set of people they are protecting are the challenges facing our communities today , “he maintained

“People should allow security agents to do their job by allowing the law to take it’s effect for our society to be cleansed of these criminal elements.

Earlier, the chairman said Sanga local government which is located in the southern part of Kaduna state is a borderland between Plateau and Nasarawa states with farming and business as their major commercial activities, “we are more of North central than the northwest which Kaduna state is known for”, he added.
