Today being the 29th May, 2019 is my last day in office as the SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT on NEW MEDIA to the Executive Governor of Gombe State, Alh. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo OON, PhD (Talban Gombe).

I can’t thank you enough for honouring me by calling me up to serve under your excellent leadership. I have learned a lot of good virtues from you.

I have learned from your decency, determination, good humor, kindness, patience and the spirit of minding one’s own business.Thank you for instilling hope and optimism in me.

You have changed my life style from a street writer to the semi-professional writer, by scaling up my pen to be featuring beyond SOCIAL MEDIA platforms.

You elevated my Political profile from your PERSONAL ASSISTANT to the SPECIAL ASSISTANT ON NEW MEDIA and today, I am through with my responsibility as your SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT ON NEW MEDIA all within a couple of years.

Throughout your eight years in office, you have been the source of goodness, resilience, and hope for people of Gombe State which the State pulled with strength.

While the Nigerian economy lay in paralysis, you opened up your tap of knowledge and made Gombe State not to suffer from the ‘economic underfoot’.

Gombe has seen help from you through infrastructural development, where politics didn’t matter, you worked for all and for all…!

The peace you maintained in the State is what gave freedom to all of us. Gombe is indeed a better place to live under your administration.

Many people have taken heart from the hope you infused in YOUTH like me, from a common graduate to a double honour persona.

Your administration was indeed a youthful one, youth saw and experienced real participation and they contributed in harmonious accord.

I wanted to take a much needed break from political participation in order to continue embracing the potential you built in me through other means as a citizen.

But I deem it necessary now to stay temporarily to be right there with you, every step of the way in defence of your political and democratic core values, even if you are temporarily out of the race.

Nagode, Your Excellency!

Abu-Ubaida Ibrahim Kuna.

He writes from Gombe.
