Building a nation of unity and faith, peace and progress in a determined bid to make Nigeria great.

Happy Democracy Day to all Nigerians from Zenith Bank

It was so gratifying to see leading Nigerian banks that are global brands now, celebrating their nation on Democracy Day.

Another global brand from Nigeria, Access Bank became an issuer of American Express Gold Card and the Metal Platinum® Card which was announced a few days ago on June 9.

They said, “We are so excited to be the first in West Africa to launch the Access Bank American Express® Gold Card and the Metal Platinum® Card!”

And they set June 12 to celebrate Nigeria on Democracy Day.

The bank has beautiful words to celebrate June 12 with.

“Democracy empowers us to build a society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.

Today, we honor the resilience and strength of the Nigerian people in shaping a brighter future together.

Happy Democracy Day”

Wonderful words, out there.

And here’s the voice of Fidelity Bank, cheering Nigeria with the voice of the people, on Democracy Day.

It’s certainly a triumph in resiliency that Nigeria is celebrating Democracy Day on June 12.

There was an election on June 12, 1993 that was deemed the freest and fairest Election ever held in Nigeria under the dictatorship of General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.

Then he annulled it, but the resistance of ordinary Nigerians forced him to step aside from power. That act offended Nigerians.

Still, many thanks go to the military leader who midwived some form of economic liberalisation, a reason Nigeria has private banks today that are running on the international circuits and giving us pride.

General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida also liberalized the media space, and we have television and radio stations owned by private individuals, also giving the nation pride.

It therefore can only get better.
