There are myriads of problems bedeviling Nigeria and 80% of these are Northern Nigeria related. If we can solve the northern problem we would have solved most of Nigeria’s problems then we can face head on the problems of tribalism and religious intolerance.

For now, the NORTH is a canker worm that is holding Nigeria back from progressing and catching up with the rest of the civilised world. Many of our people are so stuck in archaic lifestyles that they would prefer the life of Afghanistan, Yemen and Bangladesh than to have a life in the Maldives, St. Kitts and Nevis or the Scandinavia. For some abject poverty is a virtue and a tool in the hands of the wicked hearts.

Terrorists from all over West Africa have migrated down south into Nigeria and made bases in our forests in Borno, Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, Jigawa, NIger, Taraba, Benue and Kogi States. They have reared their heads in many places by killing people and wiping off villages. Our northern borders without natural barriers are virtually impossible to man and protect our country. A lot of us are confused as to the origins of these people and our governments are not being truthful as they keep dancing around the problems and not calling the issue what it is.

We keep deceiving ourselves and living in denial and today the worst victims are no one else but northerners themselves. A recent phone conversation that went viral on whatsapp says it all. That a group of people mostly foreigners riding on motorbikes numbering about 400 to 500 and armed to the teeth cannot be called bandits but what they really are; terrorists.

Nigerians must stand up together and put aside all these ethnic and religious differences. The terrorists have already made it known. They do not care who or what you are. Muslim or Christian. For as long as you are Nigerian and have a homeland to call your own they are coming to kill, burn your villages, rape your wives and daughters, steal your food and burn the ones they cannot carry.

Nigerians we must learn to face the real issues from global perspectives. It is unfortunate that we are saddled with inept, greedy, nepotistic and bigoted leaders.
