The undeclared winner of the recently held Osun State governorship election, Senator Ademola Adeleke has congratulated the incarcerated leader of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Osun State, Alhaji Fatai Diekola on the occasion of his 62nd birthday.
In a statement issued to newsmen Wednesday morning, Senator Adeleke described Alhaji Diekola as a ” potent grassroots politician with deep love of his people at heart”, calling for his immediate release from custody and exoneration from trumped up charges.
The PDP candidate in tomorrow’s supplementary polls noted that Diekola is a man of the people whose life is marked by consistent service to the poor and the downtrodden, urging men and women of goodwill within and outside the country to wade into the issue of the persecution of the notable politician.
“On this occasion of your birthday, I felicitate with you. Even as you are unjustly detained, we celebrate you as we know freedom is close by. I wish you many happy returns.
“We are convinced that after darkness,there will be light. Osun will soon be divinely lightened up. Happy birthday”, the statement signed by Olawale Rasheed ,
