AGF’s Integrity Challenged Narrative On Kanu And Igboho. Bemusing That He Conveniently Leaves Out Fulani Terrorists

Nnamdi Kanu (left), AGF Abbubakar Malami (centre) and Sunday Adeyemo, aka Igboho.

No one would be surprised if one day, they even start to tell us that MEND was responsible for kidnapping the Chibok girls or that OPC were the ones who attacked NDA. That is what you get when the narrative of the Administration and it’s blind loyalists are integrity challenged.

.
.

All AGF Malami was doing by making those accusations against Kanu and Igboho is just trying to change the narrative or balance the equation. Nigerians and the whole world know who the terrorists are, where they congregate from , where they originate from and where they mostly operate from.

I read the AGF’s comments with utter wordsbemusement. I shared it with quite a few persons and the feedback was predictably of cynicism and suspicion, questioning various gaping holes in the AGF’s comments and conclusions. Respondents were even wondering aloud why the usual suspects when it comes to the reputation for terrorist actions were conveniently left out of the AGF’s submissions.

Gaping holes were many, that I was happy to read the rejoinder by Timi Frank , former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC. He described Malami’s assertions as “spurious, highly selective and high-wired propaganda aimed at securing selfish political gains”.

I couldn’t agree with him more.

You are talking about terrorism in this present day Nigeria and you don’t mention Fulani herdsmen, but you can mention Kanu and Igboho. How frivolous can that get ?

He further claimed that certain members of the Federal Legislative house were implicated in funding terrorism, yet they can conveniently remain nameless.

The financial trails between Igboho and the indicted financiers of Boko Haram also sounds highly suspicious and illogical. If nothing at all, Igboho is a Christian, even if not an extremist or big time practising one, whereas the financiers of Boko Haram have a twisted and extremist Islamist agenda. A more viable, non-contentious and believable story would have been a link between Boko Haram and the Fulani herdsmen kidnappers; and not Igboho, whose utterances and actions have been very much at variance with the ideology, methods or even character of these folks.

Even more ridiculous were attempts to link IPOB to the Oba of Lagos Palace attack which was videotaped in large part and was carried out by area boys, with no single IPOB insignia on display during these attacks.

.
I agree with Timi Frank when he dismissed AGF’s comments as propaganda. It seems to be the new approach to divert attention from the real issues.

Only last week the Abuja – Kaduna rail track was sabotaged and the train attacked. In the back and forth discussions over the identity of the attackers, which one expected would be so obvious, some ridiculous assertions started springing up that it could have been an IPOB attack. How ridiculous does it get? One day, they might even start telling us that MEND was responsible for kidnapping the Chibok girls or that OPC were the ones who attacked NDA. That is what you get when the narrative of the administration and it’s blind loyalists are integrity challenged.
