Armed Security Operatives Blockade AIT Premises, Ignoring Court Ruling By Justice Ekwo

A combined team of armed security operatives from the Department of State Services, DSS, Police and Army have mounted an effective blockade on the premises of DAAR Communications Plc,Gbaduma Hill, Asokoro, Abuja.

The security operatives stormed the premises of DAAR communications at about 12:30 am on Saturday morning and after carrying out a series of surveillance around the premises, mounted a blockade against the premises.

According to the General Manager of AIT, Tony Akiotu, “they came heavily fortified and armed, did a series of surveillance moves round the premises ”

He further added that the staff of the broadcasting outfit remain undeterred .

DAAR Communications PLC are the owners of Raypower FM, Faaji FM and Africa Independent Television, AIT which was closed down yesterday by the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission, but a court order revoked the ban on DAAR Communications .

Owner of DAAR Communication, Chief Raymond Dokpesi has been embroiled in various confrontations with the government of President Muhammad Buhari since 2015

This latest action is completely in violation of the ruling of Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, that ordered for the immediate reopening of the stations.
