The Gindiri Old Students Association (GOSA) has debunked rumours making the rounds on social media platforms that the Association has called on Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda who contested the March 18, 2023 Governorship election in Plateau State to congratulate Barr. Caleb Mutfwang who was returned by the INEC as winner of the said election.
A statement by Yakubu Taddy, the PRO, National EXCO, GOSA made available to the media made it clear that the Association was non partisan, non tribal and non religious.
The statement further read in part, saying that; “We are a body of members privileged to benefit from quality education provided by Christian missionaries.
“Our members are found in different political parties and diverse faiths. We therefore do not interfere in the personal affairs of individual members.
“Two of our members, Dr Nentawe Yilwatda and Caleb Mutfwang and many others participated in the 2023 Governorship and Assembly election on the ticket of different political parties.
“Following the declaration of Barr Mutfwang by INEC as the duly elected Governor of Plateau State on the platform of the PDP, his main opponent, Dr. Yilwatda( both GOSA members) has said he will challenge the outcome at the tribunal.
“That is within his democratic right as a citizen. GOSA as an association has therefore no powers to compel him to congratulate Barr Caleb Mutfwang.
“The message being shared on the subject matter is therefore calculated to cause division and disharmony among GOSA members. It is purely the imagination of the author and his sponsors.
“The spelling of Gindiri as “Gindri” by the author clearly shows he never stepped foot on the famous Gindiri school compound but a mere rabble rouser who wants to cause disaffection in GOSA whose members have a history of excellent public and private service and have supported our proprietor, the Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN in improving the learning environment to global standards.
“We therefore ask esteemed members of GOSA and the public to disregard the said publication as false and malicious.
GOSA has its official channels of communication and has at no time asked anyone to do so on its behalf”.
