Atiku’s Opening Montage Of Serenading Obi In Yola Misled The Twitterati Haters: He was AUN’s Keynote Speaker

…

The humour side of Atiku Abubakar came to the fore when he scripted a dramatic piece and acted in it by serenading Peter Obi into his palatial home in Yola, seemingly to have a meal with him.
Without warning or explanation, this skit was posted on his Twitter account. And the Internet went abuzz.
Whereas Peter Obi traveled to Yola in Adamawa state to deliver the keynote address at the 16th Founder’s Day Lecture, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the American University of Nigeria (AUN).
Those that have very little good things to say about Obi dived into their ‘tear-Obi-down’ syndrome. But they were wrong.
Watch:
Reno Omokri @renoomokri tweeted this, which was retweeted by Dr. Doyin Okupe:
Last year, Peter Obi unwisely called the Peoples Democratic Party, a party that gave him multiple platforms, a ‘structure of criminality’.
Today, he is hobnobbing with that structure because he needs the PDP and the blessing of Waziri Atiku Abubakar. And there is nothing wrong with realigning because, in politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies.
Only permanent interests. Without emotional maturity, you will not go far in politics. That is why I urge all politicians to play chess, to learn skills that may one day save their political chest.
Skills like foresight, patience, planning, circumspection, and the ability to suppress your emotions in favour of your principles. But the greatest skill you learn from chess is that every move or action has consequences. Therefore, you must anticipate yourself and others. In chess, you learn not to do what you want but instead to do what you must.
After playing chess for a while, you realise that life itself is a game of chess and that you are a chess piece in the Hand of God. What piece you are depends on your character.
Dr. Doyin Okupe himself tweeted what can be seen as sarcasm:
Doyin @doyinokupe:
“The politically naive, ignorant or bigoted have always insulted me whenever I stated that politics is a game NOT religion. No permanent friends, no permanent enemies, only permanent interests ! Interesting times ahead. We now move from Consumption to Absorption. End of discussion”
Theoasisreporters @Theoasisreport1 gave a little banter of a response:
·
,”Consumption to absorption”, looks like Dr. Doyin is learning the ‘fine’ art of insulting. You are showing bitterness sir. Whatever that’s worth. I think you should be above that.
But here is the real reason why Peter Obi was Atiku Abubakar’s guest in Yola:
“I was a guest and keynote Speaker at the American University of Nigeria (AUN)”.
In a tweet on X, formerly called Twitter, he said:
This engagement was in continuation of my tradition of sharing my thoughts by speaking at various Ivory Towers across the globe.
This trend has taken me to various educational institutions worldwide, including Cambridge University, Oxford University, Harvard University, Yale University, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and the University for Peace, among others.
At today’s event, I expressed my gratitude to the university’s founder, H.E. @atiku Abubakar, GCON, Wazirin Adamawa, who is both my leader and elder brother, for his immense sacrifice and visionary commitment to society, particularly in advancing education and human development.

I commended the students of the American University of Nigeria for their resilience and dedication to staying in Nigeria to study and learn, rather than joining the trend of “Japa”—a reality now prevalent among many young people in our land.
During my address, I emphasized the critical role of leadership in national development , underlining the need for competence, compassion, and capacity to transform our nation from consumption to production.
I highlighted the importance of foresight and vision, citing countries such as Indonesia, Singapore, India, Vietnam, and the Philippines as examples of nations that have followed the global measurements of development and have significantly improved their Human Development Indices, GDP, especially GDP per Capita within a decade, to prove what determined and enlightened leadership can achieve.
It was indeed a great pleasure to address such an audience of mostly young Nigerians.
A new Nigeria is indeed POssible!
Doyin Okupe, a medical doctor and politician was one of the top stalwarts in Labour Party on which platform Peter Obi ran for the presidency in 2023. Due to one reason or other, Doyin Okupe exited from Labour Party.
Reno Omokri used to be a media front person for the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organization. For very unclear reasons, he deserted the former Nigerian Vice president and presidential candidate of the PDP in the 2023 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar to join the government side that won the election.
There seem to be a shortage of kind words to say about Peter Obi by the duo. Yet Peter Obi seems unperturbed.
