The just concluded People’s Democratic Party, PDP presidential Primaries election held in Adokie Amasiemeka Stadium, Port Harcourt has received kudos from Gombe State governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo who was one of the contestants in a bid to pick a candidate that would fly the flag of the Party as main challenger to President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress, APC in the upcoming 2019 crucial election.
In a statement released by Abu-Ubaida Ibrahim Kuna, the SA New Media to Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, the victory by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was seen as “ well deserved and a humbling honor to the entire North East zone that has never had the privilege to lead Nigeria in a democratic setting since the end of the First Republic”.
“Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo congratulates Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and pledges cooperation and full support to him and the PDP to put an end to the retrogressive leadership of the APC in Nigeria”, the statement further added.
Ibrahim Dankwambo has already called on all PDP structures in the North East to rally round the Atiku Abubakar candidature to bring victory to the PDP for the good of a working Nigeria and for the benefit of all it’s people. “Full support is what we owe candidate Atiku Abubakar and the PDP to change the APC’s obnoxious change”, the statement went on, adding, “the last time the North East had Nigerian leadership to work for was with Alhaji Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Nigeria’s first Prime Minister who laid the framework for a developing Nigeria. We have another opportunity to serve Nigeria, and the time is now”.
It will be recalled that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar emerged victorious in the Primaries contest scoring higher than all the rest eleven contestants including Ibrahim Dankwambo in an open and transparent election. Dankwambo has also called on all the rest compatriots to join hands and ensure total victory for the PDP in the 2019 election, according to the statement sent to The Oasis Reporters.
