Dankwambo’s Gombe North Sensitization, 6 Days To Senatorial Election

With barely six days to the Senatorial Election, Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has stepped up his Sensitization campaign as an addition to the assurances of his people of Gombe North that their votes are for the Senatorial aspirant and the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, come February 16, 2019. Nevertheless, he urges every eligible voter to come out and vote in a peaceful and orderly manner.
“ We want Gov. Dankwambo in the Senate. He needn’t campaign. Gombe North is certainly for him”, Mallam Ubale, a retired civil servant told our correspondent on the phone from Gombe, today.
“He has done creditably well for the entire state and for Gombe North with his development plans. The people would vote for him”, he added.
A staff of Gombe State University who does not want her name in print because she is a civil servant, told our correspondent that she wants the highly educated young governor in the Senate, “we hope that in the future, he can attain much higher level, even if it takes 8 years or more. He is a good material at the federal level.”
People in Gombe are beginning to feel nostalgic about the superlative governor, whose tenure as governor comes to an end by May 29, 2019, having given Gombe State, two terms as governor of the ‘Jewel In The Savannah’ .
Gombe state in North East Nigeria, is a PDP safe bet. It has largely remained an oasis of peace in the turbulence that has engulfed much of the North East. “ This is largely due to the good governance provided by Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo and the peaceful nature of the people”, she added.
The completely detribalised governor, had all his post graduate degrees from Universities in southern Nigeria, where he is said to have built a lot of bridges of friendship across the South West, the South South and the South East.
An accountant by profession, he was once the Accountant General of the Nigerian federation, before he became governor. He was sighted in 2018, delivering a lecture on the economy as guest, at the oldest university in Nigeria, the University of Ibadan.
