@Spotlight_Abby on Twitter had posted that “One of the kidnappers who tried to kill Apostle Suleman was caught and as he was being questioned, a cop shot him dead.

Why do our security agents summarily destroy evidence, often, right at the crime scene? Is it incompetence, collusion or a lack of professionalism?

Soon afterwards, the Divisional Police Officer for Auchi Division, Edo State, Ayodele Suleiman, was removed from his post by the outgoing state Commissioner of Police, now an Assistant Inspector General of Police, Abutu Yaro.

This followed the death of a suspect in the attack on the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman.

A statement by the Command’s Deputy Public Relations Officer, Jennifer Iwegbu, said the DPO’s withdrawal was part of the measures to unravel the circumstances that led to the death of one of the surviving members of the gang that attacked the convoy of Suleman on Friday.

Suleiman, a Chief Superintendent of Police is to report at the State Police Command Headquarters for debriefing.

The statement read: “The outgoing CP now AIG Abutu Yaro has ordered the withdrawal of CSP Ayodele Suleiman, DPO Auchi for debriefing at the State Headquarters with immediate effect.

“We urge members of the public to remain calm and patient, assuring that no stone would be left unturned to unearth the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

It was earlier reported that one of the suspected attackers of the Apostle Suleiman was arrested by vigilantes present in the community and handed over to the police.

A passerby was heard in the video hailing the unidentified policeman for his action.

Reacting to the alleged death of the suspect, Apostle Suleman took to his Twitter account to accuse the police of trying to erase all evidences that could lead to the arrest of his attackers.
