Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia.

Judgement was delivered today in the two year old lingering case instituted against Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia at the Ikeja High Court by the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Delivering judgement, Justice Oshodi dismissed the case.

According to popular lawyer and human rights crusader, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, who is also a former Aviation Minister, “Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia was held hostage by the EFCC in the court premises for one hour and now she has been re-arrested and taken to their Lagos office.

“All this despite the fact that she is innocent of any wrongdoing, despite the fact that she is a lady, despite the fact that she has been subjected to and suffered immense trauma due to this case over the last two years and despite the fact that one of her legs is now broken and in a cast.”

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode concluded his statement by saying, “This is not justice: it is sheer wickedness. I appeal to President Buhari to put a stop to this wholesale, vindictive and vicious persecution and to call the EFCC to order. If we do not fear man we should at least fear God!”

It will be recalled that a video once went viral online of the invasion of the premises of then embattled Chief Innocent Chukwuma, the Chairman of Innoson Automobile Industries Ltd allegedly by the anti graft agency, EFCC. Chief Chukuma’s wife spoke in the video detailing how she was slapped by one of the operatives who had forcefully entered the premises and were alleged to have come from the EFCC. It was in the height of the case between Innoson Auto versus a Nigerian bank. Up to the Supreme Court, the bank lost.
