A Council chairman in Ekiti State, Hon. Akin Ogidi has thrown his weight behind the governorship ambition of the state deputy governor, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka by taking the ‘Continuity Agenda’ campaign to the people of Egbe – Ekiti to solicit their support ahead of July 14 election in the state.

Hon. Ogidi who is the Executive Chairman of Gbonyin Local Government went to the town with his entourage on Thursday where he was hailed by the people for the honour bestowed on them.

Addressing the market women, the council boss instructed the Supervisor for Works in the local government, Mr. Akintomiwa Ajonijebu to visit the town’s market and do the costing for it’s renovation.

Mr. Emmanuel Oselusi who is an indigene of the town was appointed by the chairman as his Personal Assistant on Domestic Affairs.

The women empowered in the town with cash gifts by the chairman were Odeyemi Agnes, Mrs Omotola Aiyegbusi, Chief Mrs. Janet Ariyo, Mrs. Odeyemi Toyin, Mrs. Toyin Adetomokun and Mrs. Olokesusi Susan.

The chairman also promised that women empowerment will be a continuous exercise, urging them to support Eleka in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

Responding, one of the empowered women who spoke on behalf of others promised to work with the chairman in ensuring Eleka’s victory in the coming poll.
