Uche Secondus, the PDP chairman was in Ado-Ekiti recently.

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, was in Ekiti State, Friday to cheer and hand flags to the party’s candidates in Saturday’s local government elections, charging and cheering them to victory in the elections.

While on the visit, Secondus described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as “a broken government and a party which has failed the entire citizens of Nigeria.”
On it’s part, the All Progressives Congress, APC has announced that it will boycott the election.
In a statement by the Publicity Secretary of the party, Taiwo Olatunbosun, he said the election was a “misnomer, undemocratic and compromised from the beginning.”

Olatunbosun further explained that “the compromised State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) is composed of members who are card-carrying members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with a mandate to endorse and implement the decisions and directives of Governor Ayodele Fayose and his party.
“No democratic institution or political party worth its salt will waste its resources and time to participate in a compromised election and under a lawless administration as exemplified by Fayose”.

Secondus on his part, insisted that the PDP will defeat the APC in any election while urging the party supporters in Ekiti State to come out en-masse and vote for the party’s candidates in the local government election.

The PDP national chairman, who also addressed the party faithful during a rally at Matthew Street in Ado Ekiti, charged the people to come out on Saturday, “so that the APC would be disgraced in the 2018 governorship election.”
For the coming governorship election in the state come July 2018, Secondus assured that the PDP would conduct free, fair and transparent primary election henceforth across the country, and also do the same for the governorship, Senatorial and the House of Representatives elections.
“You are lucky to have a governor like Ayodele Fayose,” Secondus told the gathering in Ekiti State adding that the governor’s infrastructural development of the state was laudable and would endear the PDP to the people.
