‘Embrace Skills To Improve Your Wellbeing’, Kaninkon Monarch, Tanko Tete Admonishes Youths

The paramount ruler of the Kaninkon Chiefdom, Mallam Tanko Tete (Tum Nikyop one) has admonished youths to embrace skills acquisition as well as academic qualification in order to improve their wellbeing.
The Tum Nikyob said “Nigerian youths should embrace skills acquisition in addition to academic qualifications to promote self reliance for socio economic and political development of the country.”
The paramount ruler stated this during the nineteenth Nikyop National Prayer Summit at Ungwar Fari, Kaninkon- Jama’a local government area of Kaduna State in Northwest, Nigeria.
Mallam Tanko Tete explained that the Prayer Summit with the theme “Be Courageous”, was a pointer towards having courageous men and women from different walks of life who would stand out for the truth in championing the affairs of the land
The Nikyop leader and chief who stressed the need for all Nikyop sons and daughters from within the country and in the diaspora to intensify efforts at acquiring both formal and informal knowledge said education especially in the areas of science and technology, agriculture as well as skills acquisition through training were key drivers for growth and development in every society.
In his keynote address at the Prayer Summit, Vice Chairman, Jama’a local government area council, Mr Micah Ngboni called for total submission to the will of God, saying despite the challenges of insecurity facing the land, God has not forsaken them as he stresses the need for respect to traditional authorities and unity of purpose regardless of tribe, religion or political affiliations for the good of Nikyop land and beyond.
Speaker after speaker at the Nineteenth Nikyop National Prayer Summit, Reverend Joshua Bawa, Monday Shamaki and Emmanuel Nikyu who sought the face of God for the land said, there was need for courageous men and women from all walks of life in Nikyop land to speak out against any evil being meted against them with the sole aim of preserving the cultural heritage and natural endowment of the land.
“We must courageously speak out against any evil in the land.
“Jesus through his earthly ministry demonstrated the courage to speak out against evil.
“Therefore as Christians, especially at this period of celebration, we must have the courage to speak out against evil in our land
“Given that Nigeria today is faced with serious challenges of insecurity, banditry, corruption, bigotry amongst other evil atrocities, Christians must join other Nigerians of goodwill to stand up with courage and speak out against such evil (Joshua 1:6-9),they added.
In his remarks. Kaninkon Development Association (KADA) National President, Mr Jonathan Kolbe who prayed to God for peace and unity in Nikyop land, Kaduna state and Nigeria in general stressed that the importance of prayers cannot be overemphasized noting that God would in no distant time visit the land even in the midst of the numerous challenges facing her.
The paramount ruler described as commendable the effort of the governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasiru El’rufai for his commitment to ensure normalcy returns to the area, and he appeals that security be extended to the hinterlands to protect farmers and their produce in the area.
