Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has received a former Chairman of the defunct Oyo State Corps on Road Safety, Major Rasaki Salawu, rtd and Chairman, Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority ( OYRTMA), Major Adesagba Adekoya (rtd) during a courtesy visit by Major Salawu to the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan.

Beyond reminiscing on how it was in the past, they also talked about road safety in the present time while projecting about the future as it concerns traffic management in Oyo State.

Oyo State has seen a beautiful expansion in the number of road networks, meaning that the work of traffic officers would increase and the economy of the state would receive a boost because transportation is key to the distribution of goods and services.

One other beautiful aspect of the road construction initiative that governor Seyi Makinde embarked upon is in the addition of sidewalks for pedestrians to safely walk on, slightly elevated higher, separating it from the motorways.

That addition will encourage safe jogging, increasing the livability index of users of Oyo State roads, as well as enhancing healthy exercising through jogging and brisk walking.
