The claim by Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osibanjo that Jonathan dished out N100bn and $295m cash before the 2015 election has come under harsh attacks from Femi Fani-Kayode, former Nigerian Aviation minister in his tweets on Saturday.

Handing hard knocks on the claim, the former minister called it “false”.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chieftain maintained that the Vice President has turned himself into a “pernicious and unrepentant liar.”

In his Twitter handle, Fani-Kayode, who has been trenchant in his criticism of the Buhari administration, has been detained in the cells of Nigeria’s secret service yet remains fearless, he says, “just for a tiny morsel at Buhari’s table”, Osinbajo peddles falsehood.

The tweet read, “According to@ProfOsinbajo, @GEJonathan “doled out 100 billion naira and $290 million in 2 weeks just before the 2015 elections”.

“This is false. The VP has turned himself into a pernicious and unrepentant liar and a peddler of falsehood just for a tiny morsel at Buhari’s table.”

Osinbajo had said that the massive looting of the nation’s resources by the Jonathan’s administration was responsible for the economic crunch the country was suffering under the present administration.

He specifically said that before the 2015 elections, the government of Goodluck Jonathan, ostensibly doled out N100billion and $295million in cash within two weeks.

Social media commentators have often wondered why Osibanjo never mentions what or who financed the APC campaign that brought the Buhari administration into power and see the constant maligning of the opposition political party as diversionary to keep citizens from discussing the hardship that is facing Nigerians with no clearly defined path of getting out of it, a clear two years and five months after swearing in the regime, with only one year and seven months left of it’s tenure.
