EKITI APC PRIMARY ELECTION COMPROMISED
The election which was billed to hold today and chaired by the Governor of Jigawa state Mohammed Badaru Abubabar has been greatly compromised.

The election had been tilted to favor Governor Fayemi’s Candidate Biodun Oyebanji. This indication is clear with the constitution of the local electoral committee whose members are current government officials whose engagement letters were signed and issued by Biodun Oyebanji while he was still the secretary to the state government .
This is highly unacceptable and does not exhibit the spirit of democracy. It is like determining the outcome of the election before it even commences
We are therefore calling on all party faithfuls especially the chairman of the caretaker committee extraordinaire Governor Mai Mala Buni to intervene in this purported day light robbery.
We are no longer confident in the transparency of the process as Governor Badaru has been greatly compromised.
At the stakeholders meeting which was held earlier, this same concern was raised by all contestants and they were adviced to constitute their own list to reflect a true representation of all interest. One would have thought that this would resolve the issue only for Governor Badaru to revert back to the list of government appointees after his meeting with Gov Kayode Fayemi.
There’s an urgent need to withdraw and reconstitute the list if the election is to hold. We therefore call on Governor Mai Mala Buni to wade into this situation and ensure that the right thing is done.
If they’re confident of the popularity of their candidate there’s no need trying to manipulate the election even before it commences. All we want is a transparent and peaceful election in which the most popular candidate chosen by the people will emerge.
