Outgoing governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose has made a dramatic turn around from his earlier stance that he would quit the PDP following the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2019 presidential election.

Fayose like the governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike were in support of the presidential ambition of the Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal but they both seem disillusioned over the emergence of Atiku as the PDP’s flag bearer, according to an online news source.
clearly to Nigerians. We have no regret aligning with Governor Wike to support Governor Tambuwal for the presidential ticket and no apologies either.

“We kept the party alive and strong when most men became ladies. We never compromised. If any group feels it can do it alone, we will see how far they can go,” Fayose said.

Fayose however, in what seems to be a change of mind, has declared his support for the former Vice President. He also stated that he would never quit the PDP for any other political party.

The out-going Ekiti State Governor also revealed that he plans to work for the victory of Atiku in the general election.

Fayose like governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, had decided to support Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal during the PDP presidential primary election, simply did not go their way.

Meanwhile, congratulatory messages continue to pour in to Atiku Abubakar’s office from co contestants with pledges of support, even as the PDP candidate quickly named former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi as his vice presidential running mate.

It will be recalled that Peter Obi is regarded as Nigeria’s most successful governor since 1999 when democratic governance dawned on Nigeria.
