As at 2.00 pm Friday, all necessary documents had been filed before the court and verified aimed at releasing former governor of Ekiti State, South West Nigeria, Mr. Ayodele Fayose from EFCC custody. Earlier on, Thursday saw him being granted bail by an Abuja High Court.
Our Abuja correspondent noticed the presence of his media adviser, Lere Olayinka and a medical doctor at the High Court, Thursday where his bail conditions were perfected.
Soon afterwards, Ayo Fayose was seen surrounded by his immediate family, friends and People’s Democratic Party, PDP officials within the premises of the anti graft agency.
Fayose had walked to submit himself at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission offices last week in an In-Your-Face kind of Tee-shirt that read, ‘EFCC I’M HERE’ defiant attitude as a reaction to the EFCC harassment and taunts even while he was still in office with immunity. They had shown open mockery, insinuating that Ayo Fayose might cut loose and flee the country.
But to demonstrate his fearlessness, he submitted himself to the EFCC soon after handing over power.
Hopefully, Ayo Fayose should be out of custody by Monday, October 29, 2018.
