One good thing about leading Tier-1 Zenith Bank Plc is that the leadership is perceptive. They read the street, and have watched the steady stream of intrepid Nigerians flock to the International airports in Nigeria as they go abroad, emptying some streets. This is a phenomenon, called Japa in local Nigerian street slang.
These migrants are going with skills needed abroad where they earn quality foreign exchange, sorely needed back home to fund Nigeria’s next phase of needed growth. Therefore the need to create a new banking account or to strengthen it, called Diaspora banking becomes imperative.

Fidelity Bank Plc was also there. And they were also offering incentives.
That is savviness and perception, and it is the right thing.
