The Pro- Chancellor of Greenfield University in Kaduna, Eng. Simon Nwakacha had said that the University would go into large-scale agricultural activities such as farming, poultry and fish farming next year as part of its entrepreneurial scheme.

He was speaking at the commissioning of a set of tractors, mowers, harrower and other farm implements at the permanent site of the university in Kasarami, Abuja Kaduna Expressway on Wednesday.

The Pro-Chancellor expressed his determination to see that the students of Greenfield University achieve success in whatever field of study they choose as well as gaining proficiency in farming, so as to be food sufficient when they graduate.

This he said was also part of the university’s efforts to support the Federal Government’s efforts at boosting agricultural production in the country.

He further said that “in support of the Federal Government’s efforts to boost agriculture in Nigeria, Greenfield University, Kaduna would embark on large-scale fish farming, poultry production and other forms of agricultural activities next year.

” To this end, and in line with international best practices all over the world, this institution has acquired modern farm implements such as tractors, harrowers, mowers and slashers.

“It is my earnest desire that apart from the students acquiring the best in their educational fields, they would also learn how to farm and be self sufficient in food production by learning how to be farmers practically”.
