The northern part of Nigeria no longer presents itself as the necessary region that would entice anyone to plan a long stay in, because it’s unhappy people are weak and ineffectual.
What has exposed the underbelly of the region is the culture of banditry, kidnapping and terrorism that has made it prostrate and unable to help itself.
A few armed tribesmen have so cowed a region with the highest number of military complexes, yet remain so dispirited that it can’t save itself.

And now, a Deputy governor’s convoy gets attacked by a ragtag army of bandits, yet the comatose people can only but rant on social media.
The attacks on the convoy of the Deputy Governor of Kebbi State and the killing of 19 of his security guards attest to the security paralysis in the country. If such a high ranking public official is not safe, then who else is safe. The families of those 19 must not be forgotten.

Northern Nigeria prefers a saviour from within themselves, yet they know not how, therefore remain mired in their suffocating mud.
