The All Progressive Congress (APC) ruling party that has hitherto paid scant regard to the feminine gender under President Muhammadu Buhari is now seeing women doggedly insisting that they would no longer be pall rice, eaten only when there’s no other choice.

After two terms that would expire next year, Ben Ayade, governor of Cross River State under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), crossed over to the All Progressive Congress (APC) with the aim of transiting from the executive seat to the legislature so as to avoid going into political oblivion or trying his hand in the private sector.
He crossed to the APC, but received a humiliating defeat from his unappreciative kinsmen who handed him a defeat at the primary election in the classic behavior of the South South people from the old Cross River State (Akwa Ibom was carved out of it). When their governors defect from the party that they benefited from, they bench them.
Akwa Ibom did the same for Godswill Akpabio who was a star governor under the PDP. His attempt to go to the Senate was stoutly resisted.
The Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade placed third, losing his Senatorial Primary election to Cecilia Adams.
The other feminine upset occurred in Adamawa in the north east.

Salim Paris tweets that the Aisha camp were caught buying votes. Outside of Twitter, only a forensic examination can authenticate this though.
Though pulling the win through in a man’s world is however praise worthy.
