Plateau State Commissioner of Police Bartholomew Onyeka has tasked the newly inducted police constables to be professional in their conduct as they embark on community policing.
CP Onyeka threw the challenge at the command headquarters while receiving 231 newly recruited police constables who had passed out from the Police Training School.
The 231 newly recruited police constables are 196 males and 35 females.
The CP admonished them to be decorous in their behavior in line with the rules and regulations of the Nigerian Police Force as they relate with the larger society.
According to him, “you’re no longer on your own as you’re under constituted authority. You would be held responsible for any infractions you get involved in
. So we expect the best behavior from each and every one of you.
” You would be posted to your local government of origin as directed by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), and in line with the policy of the force that upon your recruitment and passing out, you are going out to the rural areas to complement the efforts of the divisional police as well as the area commanders that are in charge of the area”, he stated.
In addressing the female police constables, the CP advised them to dress decently in accordance with their dressing code.
“Don’t wear anything that would project you in bad light, dress decently always and ensure you adopt the hair that is approved by women police because you have your dress code”, he concluded.
