Israeli Ambassador, Others Visit IDP Camps, Orphanages and National Mosque In Abuja

The Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, HE Shimon Ben Shosan between the 19 and 20 2020, led the staff of the Embassy, the Israeli community in Nigeria and other well-meaning organizations on a tour of Internally Displaced Persons Camps and orphanages within the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

 




The tour conducted by the ambassador and his group was specifically targeted at reaching out to needy Moslem communities during the holy month of Ramadan.


The visit, which according to the ambassador was to “lend a helping hand to those in need and to live by the examples we have received in the Holy Books”, had several organizations including the Israeli community in Nigeria, Heritage Bank, Chabad, Pugan Technology Limited, Mag Tech Systems and King of the World donating hundreds of food packs, hygienic cum sanitary items to the refugees at the IDP camps and to inmates of the orphanages visited.



While speaking at one of the IDP camps visited, the diplomat expressed hope that the fight against Covid-19 would soon be a thing of the past.


He further expressed his belief that the fight against poverty, man’s effort to curb the effects of climate change and water crisis would be rejuvenated.


” I hope to witness a direction of the humanity’s efforts to resolve the challenges of climate change, poverty and the water crisis that affects us all”.


The charismatic diplomat together with the staff of the Israeli embassy, the Rabbi of Chabad, Mr. Israel Uzan and Executive Director of the “Brand Life Vision Foundation” (BLVF), Ms. Binta Sid also visited the National Mosque Abuja where they were received by the Chief Imam, Sheik Kabir Muhammad Adam.

At the Mosque, HE Ben-Shoshan expressed his gratitude to his host for allowing him and crew to donate materials to the refugees and orphans.


He went further to appreciate Ms Binta Sidi and others who supported him and his staff.


“My staff and I would like to express our gratitude for this opportunity to give – as we feel we received so my staff and I would like to express our gratitude for this opportunity to give – as we feel we received so much more.


“Through the love, welcome, and appreciation we witness the open heart of the people of Nigeria.


“Therefore, I would like to thank Ms. Binta Sidi and her Foundation (BLVF) for giving us this opportunity and seeing it through with us, “hand-in-hand”.


Finally, Ambassador Ben Shosan acknowledged and extended his regard to the Moslem community in the country during the holy month of Ramadan, saying,


” i extend my warmest regards and wishing Eid Mubarak to all our Muslim brothers observing this Holy month and I wish to convey blessings of health and safety to us all.
