Kaduna State NUJ Chairman, Comrade Adams Yusuf, receives the State Coordinator of the NHRC, Ternga Gwar in his office.

“Kaduna remains a pioneer, a shining example and the best NUJ chapter because all the 19 States chapters in the North and even Abuja were given birth to by the Kaduna chapter of NUJ”, asserts the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna Council Chairman, Comrade Adams Yusuf as he receives the State Coordinator of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Terngu Gwar who led a team of the commission on a courtesy call to the NUJ Kaduna State secretariat, Wednesday April 24, 2019.

He explained that Kaduna is a hub for the media both local and international and has spread of outreach the world over.

The Oasis Reporters recalls that embattled Zamfara State APC stalwarts, including a Senator and Defense minister once left Gusau and Abuja after a protracted court case before the general elections to come to the Kaduna NUJ conference room to address the World Press, laying credence to the preeminence of the Kaduna State chapter of the body.

“Kaduna has come of age and is home of media. In Kaduna I can say, internationally, we have BBC, VOA, and other international media, NTA, TVC, AIT, Channels, Liberty, DITV and other TV stations, all the national dailies and the two biggest online in Northern Nigeria, New Nigerian and AUTHENTIC News Daily,” he said.

He reiterated Kaduna NUJ’s commitment to ensuring that issues of human rights abuses and arbitrary arrests of Nigerians is reduced to its barest minimum.

“We have hard working journalists that can ensure that your activities are given adequate coverage.

“We also boast of competent hands and even the local programmes here reach all over the world. We get callers from Saudi Arabia and others during a Hausa Programme on Radio Nigeria, Hanu Dayawa,” he said
