Plateau State government says the creation of new Chiefdoms and upgrading of existing ones will strengthen the traditional institutions towards making meaningful impact to the peace-building architecture of the State.
In a statement issued by Yakubu Dati, the Plateau state Commissioner for Information and Communication, he charges the public to note that the creation of new Chiefdoms of Ibaas in Barkin Ladi, Ngas in Kanke and Byan in Langtang South, exist under the Chairmanship of the Gbong Gwom Jos, the Ngolllong Ngas and the Ponzhi Tarok respectively.
He said, the upgrade of the Anaguta Chiefdom under the Ujah Anaguta, and the Aten Chiefdom under the Atar Aten of Ganawuri, will promote accountability of the traditional institutions.
“Some of these chiefdoms created and Gazetted In 2006, but set aside by the past administration, have been restored by the Lalong administration in the spirit of fairness, justice and emancipation.
“Plateau people should be rest assured that the Lalong led Rescue Administration will continue to respond to the yearnings and aspirations of the people of our state.
