On December 23, 2019, it was a Mega Praise session at Omituntun 2019 Mega Praise and End of the Year Thanksgiving service, at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba. The event, which was started in 2014 is in its fifth year. The theme for this year was ‘Come Glorify the Lord”.

Seyi Makinde spent his special day yesterday attending a Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Service at the Cathedral of St Peter, Aremo, after which was a reception at his residence.
Official PDP Nigeria @OfficialPDPNig equally rejoiced with their fresh mint governor, Seyi Makinde who has been doing wonders politically in Ibadan, South West Nigeria.
“At 52! We congratulate your Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo, Engr. Seyi Makinde on the occasion of your 52 birthday. Sir, you are an inspiration to the younger generation and our great party is proud of you. Happy birthday and Merry Christmas.
Prince Uche Secondus was mentioned. He’s the PDP Chairman.
Then a tweet from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar saying to @seyiamakinde,

Wishing you many more years in good health and service to the good people of Oyo state and Nigeria. -AA
Former Senator representing Bayelsa State, Ben Murray-Bruce, @benmurraybruce would not be left out. He sent his good wishes for “a healthy 52nd birthday to my good friend and brother, @seyiamakinde – a true hero of the great Oyo State. History will forever be kind to you.
Seyi Makinde promptly retweeted Ben’s tweet.
Not to be left out was Rauf Aderemi Olaniyan
@raufolaniyan. He’s a fellow engineer like Seyi Makinde, and the deputy governor of Oyo State.

The Oasis Reporters would have made great news out of it, if the former governor, Chief Abiola Ajimobi had sent in a goodwill tweet.
Neither did Bayo Adelabu, both of the defeated APC.
Typical of most Nigerian politicians. When will they learn chivalry and the name of the game that is goodwill, patriotism and free love ?
Is politics all about tension, hatred and “ta-ta-tar” war ?
Bayo Adelabu could have earned himself some goodwill had he openly feted Seyi Makinde.
Our Nigerian politicians, most of them, lack grand gestures. To them, politics is war.
Too bad.
