NACAT Rules APC Out For Kaduna South, Says Party ‘Holds No Good for Our People

The ‘Never Again! Committee against Tyranny (NACAT)’, has asked indigenes of Southern Kaduna to have nothing to do with the ruling All Progressive Party, which is the ruling party in the state and at the federal level.
Their anger is said to be fueled by series of targeted killings of Southern Kaduna indigenous people by suspected Fulani herdsmen militia with no one being arrested or prosecuted for the daring impunity. Incidentally, both the governor of their home state and the President of the country, Nigeria are ethnic Fulani. Southern Kaduna people believe that the killers want to cleanse them from their ancestral lands and occupy for cattle grazing.
The group stated ten reasons why their people must not vote the APC.
Their Press Release :
NEVER AGAIN! COMMITTEE AGAINST TYRANNY
10 Reasons why Southern Kaduna Must not Vote APC for LGA Chairman.
Anybody who is in the All Progressive Congress, APC and has gotten to the level of identifying, loving, investing in the party and picking the APC as its platform to contest election, such a one has truly agreed with the philosophy, the actions and principles of the party. It also means that he is convinced, happy, in love and identifies with the utterances and actions of both elected and appointed members of the party in power.
Such a person, no matter how good he may look in his private time, has already aligned himself with a party that holds no good for the majority of our people. We must, as a matter of warning, never trust him/her with power.
The biggest and most important political giant at the grassroots is the Local Government Council boss. It will therefore be politically fatal not to view the danger that lies ahead 2019 general elections by voting in APC candidates as Chairmen and Councillors next Saturday.
Southern Kaduna is politically very relevant in Kaduna State. Any attempt to let it fall to APC control next Saturday will cause a major upset towards voting out the incumbent governor and president in 2019. This will not only affect us but the entire Middle Belt now craving for better governance.
We will indeed look unintelligent, weak and morally backward if after going through the suffering and hopelessness under the government of APC, we reward the party with Chairmen and Councillors. We must not bend to the ambition of a few person just to become the laughing stock of the country, no matter how good intention the APC candidates maybe. There is no doubt that in the end we shall regret over and over again, especially as we are still under the bad governance of the APC.
In the past three years, there is no single tangible project introduced and commissioned in Southern Kaduna by the current APC government both from the Federal, State and Local Government Council. If in the first term of APC, which wants to return for a second term, it has refused to carry out a single serious project that will assist the wellbeing of Southern Kaduna, it will be irrational and unwise to think that Southern Kaduna will fare better in the 2nd term of Nasir el-Rufai. The best way to hurry and ensure his exit and that of the APC from power is to vote another party as Chairmen and Councillors next Saturday.
The desperation by President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Nasir el-Rufai to establish new homes and settlements for violent herdsmen, (like the Laduga Grazing Reserves,) in at least three areas covering thousands of hectares in Southern Kaduna will be easily achieved with APC chairmen controlling our LGAs.
Southern Kaduna will suffer more subjugation, backwardness and underdevelopment if APC Candidates win Chairmanship seats. The reasons are that the incumbent APC government under el-Rufai believes that Southern Kaduna hates him and as such, he feels same towards the area. Since he has the final approving powers for projects, employments, appointments, security, and sundry important matters, APC Chairmen and councillors will have no choice than pander towards the sentiment and wish of the sitting governor. But another party outside the APC in charge of the LGAs, can stand firm and be backed by its people.
Governor Nasir el-Rufai and his APC government have sworn NEVER to have anything to do with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU). He called them ‘bigots’ and ‘part of the problems of Kaduna state.’ He even promised to arrest some leaders of the two bodies and bring them before a judge because they spoke against the wanton and avoidable violence unleashed on their members by armed herdsmen. Most voters from Southern Kaduna are members of SOKAPU and CAN. They must not vote for a party that does not respect their religious leaders and looks down on their pan socio-cultural body.
Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna state has already illegally used his powers to remove part of Ikulu Chiefdom and merged it with Kachia LGA as means of weakening the Ikulu chiefdom. Ikulu leaders are already in Court challenging that unconstitutional action. Voting APC to run the affairs of Zangon Kataf LGA will mean that we happy with that illegality and as such will be very discouraging to our brothers fighting that injustice.
Should the APC produce the Chairmen of our Local Government Areas, outsiders may conclude that indeed Southern Kaduna is only 30% of Kaduna State.
Say NO To APC Southern Kaduna.
Say Yes, to any other Political Party!
