Ndokwa Neku Union Issues Election Guidelines For Offices

The Ndokwa Neku Union of the Ndokwa nation consisting of three local governments of Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West and Ukwuani of Delta North in Delta State are proceeding with preparations to hold their elections into various offices of the union.

2021 NNU NATIONAL ELECTION.
ELECTORAL GUIDELINES.


The Ndokwa Neku Union (N.N.U.) Electoral Committee hereby announces the 2021 Electoral Guidelines and Processes as follows:



ELECTION TIME TABLE 2021.


The Electoral Process shall commence on 8th January 2021 and terminate on 13th February 2021.




REGISTRATION / VALIDATION EXERCISE AND UPDATE OF NNU REGISTER.



Individual membership renewal and registration exercise shall commence on the 8th January 2021 and close on the 22nd January 2021 for those who have not done so. Those who registered during the last registration exercise of 2020 remain valid. Individual registration is Two thousand Naira only. Registration can also be done online at nnu.org.ng. Click on membership and follow the instructions.




ELIGIBILITY TO CONTEST.


Registration is open to only registered and financially up to date members of NNU who possess the following:
A minimum qualification of 1st degree or its equivalent for all elective positions.
A youth leader should not be more that 35years as at 31st January 2021.

ZONING OF KEY OFFICES.



In keeping with NNU zoning convention, the following offices are zoned as follow:
President General: Ukwuani.
1st Vice PG: Ndokwa East.
2nd Vice PG: Ndokwa West.
Secretary General: Ndokwa West
Assistant Secretary General Ukwuani.
All other offices are not zoned.




COLLECTION OF NOMINATION FORMS:


The collection of Nomination form shall begin on 12th January 2021 and terminates on 22nd January 2021. Below are the fees for the different positions:

SCREENING OF CANDIDATES:



February 11, 2021 at a venue to be conveyed to the candidates.

DATE OF ELECTION: 13 February 2021.
VENUE: Christ Anglican Church Hall, Utagba-Ogbe, Kwale.
TIME:

Accreditation: 9.00 AM TO 11. Am
Opening Formalities: 11 am to 11:30 am
Election: 12 pm to 1 pm
Declaration of results/swearing in ceremony 2:00 pm



CONSTITUTION OF THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE.


The Electoral college shall be made up of the following:
Forty-four (44) Delegates per Local Government Area
Ndokwa East – two from each clan (twenty – two clans)
Ndokwa West – each clan to have seven delegates (six clans), while Utagba-Uno and Utagba-Ogbe are to have extra one delegate each (based on their population).

Ukwuani Local Government – Nine (9) clans-eight clans to have five each while Umuebu the smallest clan will have four delegates.
The selection must be gender sensitive and the Clan PGs or the representatives are required to issue a letter to the delegates.

All past Presidents and Secretaries (Inclusive of Chairman and Secretary of Caretaker Committee) of NNU and
Thirty (30) Leaders of Thought at Ten (10) per L.G.A (These shall be determined by the Caretaker Committee and the Electoral Committee.)


COVID – 19 PROTOCOL / COMPLIANCE


All delegates for the electoral college must be registered with NNU and should come to the election venue with appropriate nose mask and be ready to undergo temperature testing before being allowed into the venue.
