More questions for the saxophonist.

With the global lockdown in place, the Churches that remained open were the big ministries that had the foresight to invest in television ministry. Many of them utilize cutting edge technologies to remain in God’s business by remaining open, in virtual format.

Redeemed Christian Church of God is one of them. They are on Satellite television, giving them global access, as long as a member has a satellite receiver and a connected satellite dish.

On Children’s day, the Church feted children in Nigeria to a day of fun, as they showcased their talents, at a time that government owned schools are shut, and children are at home without education or recreation.

Children from the Church performed calisthenics, sang, danced and there was a huge delight, when a teenage girl, Favour Dele-Oke displayed amazing dexterity in blowing the trumpet.
Interviewed by her fellow teenagers who doubled as television anchors, she narrated how the dream to learn how to blow the trumpet started.

The General Overseer of the huge Church with branches throughout Nigeria, Africa and the World, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has a tradition of being serenaded to the altar by a saxophonist, Pastor Kunle Ajayi. The choice of song on the trumpet could pander from a hymn like ‘Showers of Blessings’ , to just about any other hymn. They are mostly deeply fulfilling spiritually, to set the tone for the message or the prayers.

At age eight, Favour Dele-Oke would watch on television, enraptured as Pastor Kunle Ajayi would display superb mastery of blowing the saxophone. She made up her mind to become a saxophonist.

Just as she told the story of her inspiration, it was obvious that children all over the world watching her must have been inspired as well.

However, for a similar event in future, by God’s grace without the threat of a pandemic, the Church’s television unit should do well to connect celebrating children in other locations in Nigeria, or perhaps African destinations. They can make presentations too.
