NLC Commences Strike Tomorrow, Sept 26, Over Minimum Wage Implementation

Strong indications have emerged that Nigerian workers will on Wednesday, 26th September, 2018 commence a nationwide warning strike to press for the implementation of the national minimum wage.

Already, All Industrial Unions, All NLC State Councils have been directed to commence the nation-wide warning strike.

In a circular released this morning by Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson, General Secretary, organized labour said the strike is in respect of the non-implementation of the National Minimum Wage.

 

The strike according to the circular is effective from Midnight of Wednesday, 26th September, 2018.

All Industrial Unions and all State Councils are however advised to commence mobilisation immediately for an effective strike action, nation-wide.

Source said a formal notification letter will be sent to the concerned union leaders later in the day.
