Obaseki Kick-starts Another New Year With Prompt Payment Of Workers’ Salaries, Pensions

The Edo State Government has paid January 2022 salaries and pension to workers and retirees in the state, in furtherance of efforts by the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration to sustain the welfare of Edo workers.
In a statement, Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie Esq., said the prompt remuneration to the workers and retirees is in continuation of the government’s commitment to meet its statutory obligation well before the end of the month.
According to him, “The Edo State Government on January 26, 2022, paid salaries and pension to workers and retirees in the state, in furtherance of the commitment of the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration to meet its statutory obligation well before the end of the month.”
He reiterated that the prompt payment of salary complements the ongoing reforms in the state’s civil and public service, aimed at enhancing productivity and ensuring the delivery of quality and effective service to Edo people.
According to him, “The Governor Godwin Obaseki-led government remains committed to reforming the civil and public service in Edo State and has embarked on several reforms and programmes to improve productivity and ensure the delivery of quality services to the people.
“Some of these reforms have translated to world-class training for the state workers at the John Odigie-Oyegun Training Centre; revamp of their work environment with the upgrade of the Block C and D Secretariat Complex, and the migration of work culture from analogue to digital platform for efficiency, among others.”
Ogie urged the workers to reciprocate the government’s gesture by remaining committed to their duties, contributing effectively to the realization of the ‘Making Edo Great Again (MEGA) Agenda.
