The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, will on Friday, July 16, 2021, flag-off the “Clean Nigeria: Use the Toilet” campaign, to drive sustainable sanitation and end open defecation in the state.

In a statement, Director, Administration and Supplies, Small Town and Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, Eigbe A. Endurance said the governor will launch the campaign at the New Festival Hall in Government House, Benin City.

According to the Director, “Governor Godwin Obaseki, will on Friday, July 16, 2021, chair the one-day official flag-off of the ‘Clean Nigeria: Use the Toilet’ campaign.

Called a Restroom, a toilet ought to sparkle and look attractive, not to be turned into a smelly dungeon.

Eigbe said the state government has continued to provide more schools, markets, health centres in rural communities with clean water and toilet facilities that would make the environment safe for residents across the state.

Recall that the Governor Obaseki-led administration collaborated with partners such as the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in deepening the impact of projects executed through the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programme for the benefit of residents of the state to ensure sustainable sanitation.
