Head of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2020 Alaghodaro Summit, Mrs. Ifueko Alufohai, has assured that the investment summit, which will be held alongside the inauguration of the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki for a second term in office, will open the state to exciting economic possibilities.

Alufohai gave the assurance on Monday, while addressing journalists in Benin City, on preparations ahead of the yearly event in its fourth edition.

She said the governor will, during the event, unveil his administration’s programmes and policies to ‘Make Edo Great Again’ in the next four years, adding that the programmes will consolidate on the achievements recorded by the administration in the first term.

According to her, “More local and international investors, as well as businesses are coming into the state to take advantage of the business-friendly economic environment which the Obaseki-led administration has created in the past four years.”

Alufohai, who assured participants of an eventful summit and inauguration, said the events will be used to project the plans of the Godwin Obaseki-led administration for Edo people in the various sectors of the state, including agriculture, industries, health care, education and infrastructure.

She said the governor will consolidate on the tremendous progress recorded in the last four years of his administration in the areas of industrialisation, infrastructure, education and job creation, adding that “several other projects and programmes are in the pipeline, including the Gelegele Seaport, Enterprise Park and the National Sports Festival, to rev up socio-economic activities.”
