Superstar Davido Adeleke (second from left) does it for family. PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Ademola Adeleke (2nd from right) beams.

There is power in the hands of Osun people tomorrow, July 16. Whether they realize its potential or let it be traded for beans and paltry cash remains to be seen.

PDP Carnival in Osogbo..all for Adeleke.

When eminent PDP stalwarts stormed Osogbo for the PDP mega rally, one could practically feel the ‘electric’ in the air. Not because phenomenal artist Davido was on hand to lend support to his uncle, but it seemed like the elixir People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Ademola Adeleke needed.

It didn’t matter that the party seemed virtually unable to rent a bigger venue for the event. Many say it was the petty attitude of the ruling party, the APC.

In a confidence boosting statement for the event, Abubakar Bukola Saraki @bukolasaraki says:

“We have learned from the Osun 2018 Gubernatorial election. This time, we are more prepared. Our party agents have been trained using INEC guidelines and we are sticking to the letter of the law”.

Atiku Abubakar who is the PDP presidential candidate flew in from his base, some say Dubai in the UAE, to be at the event.

If Adeleke wins the poll tomorrow, Atiku’s inroads into the South West would be boosted, ahead of the presidential election coming up in the first quarter of next year.

On the other hand, if Oyetola wins the Osun gubernatorial election, the major beneficiary would be homeboy Bola Tinubu for the state is believed to be the original homeland of his parents. Home support is crucial for the morale of any contest.

…then shows his Street Cred.

Whichever way it goes, the die is cast. Nigeria is watching Osun and everyone, including the Labour Party are all keen at making an impressive showing.
