Stakeholders Of The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in (Manguna, Gwande, Karfa Ward), Plateau State, paid a ‘thank you’ visit to Gwande/Karfa ward of Manguna district.
They were led by Barr. Monday Agom (aka Jirgin Manguna) on the 22nd of November, 2019.
First, the team visited the Saf. Gwande (Community/traditional leader), Samuel Usman Dodo, and his Council to thank them for keeping the faith despite the several challenges that their subjects are going through in the villages as a result of the pervading economic hardship.

Later on, the team extended same visit, to Saf Mahurum, Mafulul Mawhel and his council members.
Both traditional rulers appreciated Barr. Monday Agom and his group for the visit while also encouraging the PDP team for their efforts and that; Barr. Monday Agom and his group should sustain the good works of uniting the people under a common cause and this should be done with “sincerity of purpose,” they added. As an admonition, the traditional chiefs believe that the hope of the communities and people of surrounding villages would be rekindled once they sense that they are being carried along in the scheme of things..
The meeting had in attendance, the PDP chairman and his executive team members, as well as many other well wishers at the ‘thank you’ gathering.

The thank you visit is coming on the heels of the massive support the PDP enjoyed from the people of the district despite federal might that was deployed to deny them of their votes.
This thank you visit has led to a lot of reactions from the people as many are expressing surprise that for the first time, they are seeing a situation whereby a party that lost elections (through denial) yet are the ones going around expressing gratitude to the community (this feat, not even the so called ruling party have done since 2015). This further gives credence to the fact that the people’s mandate was stolen “and those that stole it are less concerned about the feelings of the people”, a community member opined.

Furthermore, this show of appreciation has also led many to wonder and ask, “what if the PDP was declared winner of their rightful votes? It means therefore that the people wouldn’t have been in the economic quagmire they are in presently as a result of anti people policies by the ruling party.
Some of the bad government policies that were identified at the gathering are:
a. Sharp increase in prices of foodstuff and other essential commodities.
b. Rise in the costs of fertiliser from 8,000 to 15,000 naira. This has led to the inability of farmers to farm in commercial quantities.
c. In addition, the people complained about some failed projects and promises made and they are as follows:
i. Promise to construct Manguna, Gwande, Karfa roads but construction has stopped after grading same prior to the 2019 elections.
ii. Failed Promise that some sons and daughters will be given appointments at various levels in the State but none of the promises has been fulfilled till date.
iii. Promise to build and equip hospitals but till date nothing has been done.
