Plateau Police Boss, Agbonlahor Orders Investigation Into Killings Of 5 In Barkin Ladi

The Plateau State Police Commissioner, CP Austin Agbonlahor says he has ordered for the “immediate” investigation into the Wednesday attack in Rawuru village in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area the led to the killing of over five persons.
The Commissioner, through a statement by the State command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Tyopev Terna also wants men of the Command to make haste and arrest the perpetrators of the attack.
The statement confirmed that five people were killed in the attack which occurred at about 9pm local time.
According to the statement, “On 6/12/2018, at about 2115 hrs, some unknown gunmen attacked some people as they were returning from a birthday party in Pugu Village.
“As a result of the attack, five people were killed and two were injured.
“The five persons who lost their lives have since been buried while the two injured are currently receiving treatment at the General Hospital, Barkin Ladi,” the statement says.
So far, no clue has been announced yet as to who the attackers were, but locals suspect Fulani herdsmen.
On Monday, there were series of anonymous messages circulating on social media, warning of impending attacks.
Police in the state has however announced the deployment of over 2,000 personnel across the state to maintain peace during the Yuletide.
Meanwhile, the command assures that those found wanting in the attack would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
